Haute cuisine overlooking the Mediterranean

If you fancy a romantic evening when you're on holiday, or if you simply wish to enjoy dinner with views of the sea or the mountain, the Costa del Sol offers all sorts of possibilities. Many of the best restaurants in Málaga have taken advantage of their surroundings and offer spectacular views that will delight diners. Taste and sight have never been so at one!

Overlooking the sea...

In Málaga, we find the Parador de Málaga Gibralfaro, situated on Mount Gibralfaro, which is next to Castillo de Gibralfaro and facing the Alcazaba de Málaga. The Parador, besides guaranteeing exceptional cuisine, enjoys one of the best views of the city and the sea.

Staying in Málaga, we come to Muelle Uno, a shopping centre overlooking the sea that offers a wide range of restaurants and shops. Of all the restaurants, the stand-out is the one run by José Carlos García, a chef from Málaga, which boasts a Michelin Star.

Puerto Banús offers us an experience similar to what we find at Muelle Uno, though this time we have to leave the Costa del Sol capital. It's in Marbella and it is one of the most exclusive shopping centres in Spain, featuring the main fashion houses and the most elegant restaurants. Dining in any of its restaurants is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all the senses: signature cuisine and views of the port.

Along with the famous Balcón de Europa, Nerja enjoys another one of the best views over the Costa del Sol: the view from its Parador de Turismo. It has a lift that goes down to the beach, and if you dine here, you will also be able to savour some of the best dishes Málaga's cuisine has to offer.

Overlooking the mountain...

To talk about views of the mountain is to talk about Ronda and Antequera. Both Parador de Turismo  state hotels stand out not only because of their fine dining, but also because of the panoramas they offer of the mountains.

The Ronda Parador de Turismo is located in the city's most privileged spot: next to the symbolic Puente Nuevo de Ronda, situated in the historical centre. From its spectacular balcony, which is some 120 metres high, visitors can fall in love with the red and yellow shades of the mountains and enjoy the delicious culinary offering inspired by Andalusian cuisine.

The Parador de Turismo de Antequera boasts a large terrace with views of the Vega antequerana (The Antequera plain) and the Peña de los enamorados (The Lover's Rock). Its food, just like all the other Parador de Turismo state hotels in the province, passes the test presented by the most demanding palates with flying colours.

Perfect for casual dining and a romantic meal alike, the Costa del Sol scenery can be viewed in all its splendour on the terraces of the most exclusive restaurants. Bon appétit and enjoy the views!
