Disconnection, emotion, sun, water, family fun... They're all advantages when you decide to spend a day in one of the water parks on the Costa del Sol, Spain. From the vertigo of a 20-metre slide to the pleasure of donuts on water, Aqualand, Aquavelis and Aquamijas, Malaga's three water parks, have everything to please the little ones... and the big ones.
Aqualand (Torremolinos)
Located in Torremolinos, Aqualand is the Costa del Sol's biggest water park. It boasts the highest kamikaze water slide in Europe: 22 metres along which the only thing you have control over is your own body. The speed is dizzying, although needless to say safety is paramount. It's the ideal attraction for the most daring.
In total, 19 slides for adults and 15 for children, drops (the famous and fun donuts); the crazy race, where the first down wins; the surfing beach, with waves over a metre high, and the Boomerang, an infinite collection of sensations on board an super-slippery inflatable.
The park also boasts a number of green areas, varied refreshment spots and a minigolf course to round off a day enjoying the mini version of one of the most popular sports.
Aquavelis (Torre del Mar)
This water park, on the eastern Costa del Sol, specifically in Vélez-Málaga, is another ideal spot where fun and adventure are guaranteed. It is the biggest leisure centre on the eastern Costa del Sol, and with good reason is home to ten different attractions for children and adults to enjoy all day long (June-September; 11:00-19:00).
Wave pools, kamikaze slide with an explosive drop, American multi-lanes, corkscrews that will have you coming back for more, aqualandia for the littlest ones and an adventure river are complemented by the picnic zone, refreshment areas and shops.
Aquamijas (Mijas)
Isla Lagarto, an almost vertical kamikaze slide, Río Bravo, Río Aventuras and a Jacuzzi are some of the attractions to be found in Mijas water park, for all the family.
In this water park, as well as enjoying water rides, you'll be able to soak up the sun in its hammocks, enjoy the refreshment area or even buy a gift.
Another of its advantages is its location, very close to Malaga airport, and to the main tourist towns on the Costa del Sol.
