There are many reasons to visit Ronda, but this historic Spanish town on the Costa del Sol is the perfect destination to hold all types of events, conferences and business meetings for many different reasons.
Venues and infrastructures
Ronda has several venues suitable for all type of events. They include the Conference Centre, in the old Santo Domingo Convent, which was commissioned by the Catholic Monarchs and reformed in order to host small to medium meetings (from 10 to 200 people), with an unbeatable location on the edge of the Tajo gorge.
The Ronda bullring is also perfect for hosting events. The facilities at the Maestranza include areas such as the Library, with a capacity of 250, and the Conference Room, of 150. Besides which, the bullring itself, the courtyards, the stockyards and the covered arena are available for staging open-air acts.
Other venues to host events include the Reservatauro, a property located 5 km from Ronda dedicated to the world of bullfighting with halls and open-air areas, and Bodegas La Sangre de Ronda, in the Wine Museum, an old house palace with hundreds of years of history which offers possibilities for all types of events.
Communications
Located around 100 kilometres from Málaga and just over 60 from Marbella, Ronda has excellent connections by road and by train. From Málaga airport, there are daily connections with the major capitals of the world and by rail, thanks to the high-speed train, to Madrid, Barcelona and other Spanish cities.
Culture
Ronda is a perfect cultural complement in itself. Its numerous monuments and buildings of interest, the majority of which are located in the old quarter, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, will be a wonderful accessory for your event. The Puente Nuevo, the Bullring, the Arabic Baths, the Mondragón and Rey Moro Palaces, the Cuenca Gardens and the Acinipo ruins are some of the essential visits.
Gastronomy
In Ronda there are two essential ingredients: tradition, which combines flavours, ingredients and old techniques, and a privileged setting offering the best raw materials. Wild mushrooms, game, cold meats from the Serranía mountain range, honey, olives and an exquisite olive oil are among the main ingredients of its delicious cuisine, without forgetting sweets made in convents such as the famous yemas del Tajo (sweets made with sugar and egg yolk). All washed down with local wines with their own designation of origin.
Shopping, fiestas and leisure
Ronda has a varied commercial and leisure offer, with something for all tastes and budgets, especially in the centre and in the area known as Calle de la Bola. As for fiestas, there are many throughout the year, from Easter to the Fair in May (the oldest agricultural event in Andalusia) to the well-known Goyesca Bullfight and Pedro Romero Fair in September, which attracts visitors from across the world as one of the most important dates in Spain in the world of bullfighting.
