# Paddle Surfing - the sport to play on the Costa del Sol

**Paddle surfing**, also known as **Stand Up Paddle (SUP)**, is a watersport that is very similar to **surfing**. The sport consists of rowing whilst standing on a **surfboard** using a specific oar. Thanks to this combination, it’s possible to calmly glide across the sea whilst surfing all kinds of waves on top.

Paddle surfing is a very appealing **sport** seeing as it's easy to learn, is a different physical activity for people to enjoy and can be done at any time of the day.

If you don't have the equipment or any experience, no problem. On the Costa del Sol, you can learn with the help of instructors and daily supervision. The **watersports schools on the Costa del Sol** are adapting quickly to **paddle surfing** and other watersports too, and they are also being introduced to a different, healthy and appealing lifestyle that really captures the spirit of **the sun and the beach.**

A **fashionable sport** for everyone where you will find a new way to enjoy the beach, the sea, and, if you're up to it, you may even end up catching a few waves.

**Sport** and sea come hand in hand on the Costa del Sol. **Watersports** are amongst the top attractions on the **Costa del Sol**. Diving, **sailing courses**, **waterskiing**, **snorkelling**, **kayaking**, **surfing** and **spearfishing** are some of the activities you can enjoy at our beaches. On top of all of these we can also add one of the most fashionable sports of the moment: **paddle surfing.**
