Cervantes Theatre (Málaga City)
The first ideas for the Cervantes Theatre emerged in 1870, when talk began about the need to have a venue for the increasing number of performances in town. Some decades before, the only theatre in the city, Teatro de la Libertad, had been burnt to the ground. Today, the Cervantes Theatre houses all kinds of performances: opera, concerts, theatre plays and dance. Holding up to 1000 people, it is the largest in Málaga.
