A craft market, performances of all kinds and a gastronomic route through the Arab, Christian and Sephardi food. These are the main ingredients of the Festival 'Frigiliana 3 Cultures', an encounter with history and fun in one of the most beautiful villages in the region of Axarquia.
Between 25 and 28 August, Frigiliana relives its past with an endless range of activities in its streets and squares. Concerts, parades, theatrical and even circuses performances complete the program of this event. A multicultural date that you shouldn’t miss.
Crafts, music and entertainment
The 3 Cultures Market is the nerve center of the festival. You can stroll through its more than 150 stalls scattered around the historic center of the town and buy organic products and handicrafts. Street entertainment artists, fire magicians and belly dancers will accompany you during the visit.
Afterwards, make a stop by the 'Casa del Apero' Cultural Centre. In this seventeenth century building you can find a Film Series, attend conferences, visit an exhibition or enjoy intimate concerts. Nevertheless, to vibrate with the strongest performances, we suggest you find a place in the Tres Culturas square.
A visit full of surprises
The “tapa” route is one of the demands of the festival. We recommend you take a walk through the streets of Frigiliana, immerse yourself in its Moorish past and visit its bars and restaurants. Some offer menus specially made for those days, with Sephardic, Arabic and Christian-inspired dishes. Give your taste buds a treat!
Also don’t forget to stop by Zacatín Street, where artisans show visitors their jobs. Bear in mind that you may be approached by some medieval characters during the way. Everything is possible at the 'Frigiliana 3 Cultures' Festival.
You should not miss ...
The 'Frigiliana 3 Cultures' Festival begins and ends with musical fireworks shows. Fireworks, released to the rhythm of music, are combined with projections, filling this village of Axarquía with light, color and sound.
The Andalusia Park of Frigiliana hosts two circus shows during the second and third day of the festival. Acrobatics, juggling and drama come together to offer both children and adults an exciting experience.
The Tres Culturas square and the House of Apero will hold eight concerts during the four days of the festival. Ensembles and soloists from Morocco, Romania, Portugal and different parts of Spain will bring music to this event.
