If you are looking for a destination to travel this winter, we recommend you to visit the Costa del Sol. Enjoy with the five senses these four natural spots that nature offers in this season.
Tajo de Ronda
Impressive. This is the word to define the Tajo de Ronda. No wonder this is the most visited natural monument of the province. This gorge, almost hundred meters deep which is dug by the Guadalevín river, has become a real place of worship in the town. As suspended from the sky, there are stunning views from here, moreover in winter, when the snow spreads as a blanket along the mountains.
Paraje Natural Acantilados Maro - Cerro Gordo
As if it were a whim of the Nature, this natural spot combines amazing cliffs with little beaches, some of them unspoiled. Its ecological value is such that United Nations has proclaimed it as SPAMI (Specially Protected Area of Mediterranean Importance). From this spot, we will be able to sight the African coast on clear days.
Sitio de los Dólmenes de Antequera
Declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2016, the Dólmenes de Antequera are an archaeological wonder, which consists of three cultural monuments (Dolmen de Menga, Dolmen de Viera and Tholos de El Romeral) and two natural monuments, La Peña de los Enamorados and El Torcal. The Dolmen de Menga is the biggest one in Europe, almost 30 meters high. The entrance is exactly in front of La Peña de los Enamorados, being this the only dolmen in Europe, which is facing a natural landscape.
Caminito del Rey
It is maybe one of the most known natural spots of the province, due to the many reports about it, so much in national as well as international press. After all, its fame is well deserved. The Caminito del Rey is a crossing built on the walls of Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, with an almost 8 kilometres linear route, which is suspended 100 meters over the river. Considered for many years as the most dangerous walk in the world, thanks to the complete refurbished works on its layout – absolutely accessible –, it is currently one of the most visited places in Andalusia. Covering it is such an experience.
