With the Guadalmedina river flowing through the town, its landscape is a continuous contrast that includes hills, wooded areas and cultivated fields. Visiting the Cemetery of San Sebastián is a must. The peculiar architectural design of the tombs leads many visitors to think, erroneously, that in Casabermeja the dead are buried vertically. The Nuestra Señora del Socorro Church is considered as an Asset of Cultural Interest, and also worth visiting are the Zambra Tower (with spectacular views of the region) and the Ceramics Workshop and Museum.
Villanueva de la Concepción
Villanueva de la Concepción is only three kilometres away from one of the most spectacular karst landscapes in Europe: The Torcal de Antequera. Consequently, this town is a privileged a starting point for making your way into this fascinating area, and it is a common destination of lovers of active tourism. The parish church and the Horcajo, Paraíso and Garrayo bridges are the main places of interest.
Fuente de Piedra
Fuente de Piedra has a lagoon that is one of the four locations in the province of Málaga classified as a nature reserve: the Fuente de Piedra Lagoon. The Nuestra Señora de las Virtudes parish church and the palace of the Marchioness of Fuente de Piedra are the main monuments to visit. A must for wine lovers are the Málaga Virgen wineries. Animal lovers, on the other hand, will be interested in visiting the Refugio del Burrito (Donkey Sanctuary), which has taken in and looked after dozens of abandoned or ill-treated donkeys and mules, thanks to the generosity of numerous donors.
Antequera
One destination not to be missed in this region is Antequera itself. With an unparalleled historical and artistic heritage, this town houses more than fifty architectural jewels and unique archaeological sites, such as the Dolmens of Menga, Viera and El Romeral. Churches, convents and mansions add to its vast heritage of tourist interest, and also worthy of note is the Alcazaba. Moreover, this area also includes surprising natural beauty spots.
Mollina
Mollina is a town in the region of Antequera closely linked to wine culture. The grapes harvested in its fields are used to make Mollina's famous designation of origin wines. The town is also home to several Roman remains: the main archaeological sites are the Castellum de Santillán and the Las Capuchinas Mausoleum.
