Exclusive galas in Costa del Sol

 Tags: Lujo

If Costa del Sol is synonymous with glamour, luxury and exclusivity, Marbella is the mecca of elite entertainment. Its nightclubs, discos, restaurants and events draw people from all over the world offering a posh atmosphere and quality service. In the field, Marbella has it all.

The town’s calendar is punctuated by galas – events combining entertainment with charity and glamour. Most of them are important fundraisers, the money then going to non-profit organisations or associations.

Global Gift: a reward to heroes

Global Gift, for instance, is a series of international events organised by the Global Gift Foundation and held every year in several major cities, including Marbella. Thus, standing along Los Angeles or Paris, the town in the Costa del Sol is among the leaders in the international scene. Leading figures, stars and celebrities gather at Global Gift every year to pay tribute to those who ‘raise awareness for children and the empowerment of women at the global level.’

The event includes a live auction, an elegant dinner, performances by renowned artists and an award ceremony for the most outstanding philanthropists. One of the awards, ‘Our Heroes’, is given to little known organisations that have an impact at the local level. Little information has leaked about this year’s event, but we know it will be as awesome as in past editions.

Antonio Banderas and Starlite Gala

Another leading gala is the one held in the context of the Starlite Festival, an international music festival held in the auditorium built in the natural environment of the quarry of Nagüeles, also in Marbella. The nice atmosphere, the impressive setting and the bands that come on the stage draw stars and other glowing guests.

The Festival also includes a fundraising gala, hosted by Málaga-born actor Antonio Banderas. The funds raised go to such foundations as Lágrimas y Favores, Cudeca and Cáritas. The event has been attended by the likes of Eva Longoria, Boris Becker, Adriana Karembeu and Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim, the second richest person in the world.

In addition to these international events, there are many others held in Marbella and the Costa del Sol. The Puente Romano Hotel, for example, which houses Michelin-starred chef Dani García’s restaurant, host many charities and parties throughout the year.

Finally, Marbella played host to the Michelin star gala last year. It was the first time the big event of the global culinary industry had been held in Andalusia. The choice was not random, for Marbella is having a great moment. Everybody wants to be here and you should join the crowds. Come on!
