Discover the Costa del Sol in 5 getaways that last under 24 hours

Got a day without classes? Find that you don't have enough time between studies and exams? There's always some time to enjoy yourself! Get away for a day and visit different parts of the province of Málaga along with your classmates and enjoy a variety of activities in unique surroundings on the Costa del Sol. We would like to suggest 5 trips to spend a day doing something different.

... for animal lovers

Crocodiles, dolphins, elephants, sharks... the Costa del Sol will surprise you with species from all over the planet. But don't be afraid! If you're an animal lover you can enjoy seeing them in Málaga's various theme parks. If you only have one day, we recommend visiting Selwo Aventura in Estepona. They you can find such varied species as llamas, cheetahs, monkeys, hippos and also a number of curious creatures that you may never have even imagined.

... for lovers of potholing

The Sima del Diablo, near the town of Júzcar, is one of the narrowest and most heavily wooded ravines that potholers can find anywhere near the Costa del Sol. This descent occurs in the fast-flowing waters of the Río de las Zúas, a river that has water all year round and so visitors can enjoy this activity at any time. The route is not particularly difficult, technically speaking, and there are four splendid cascades that you can descend.

... for lovers of diving and the sea

Maro-Cerro Gordo is an area of outstanding beauty that offers a unique opportunity to go diving in one of the few remaining near-virgin landscapes on the Costa del Sol. Thanks to the greater protection of this stretch of the coast, you can enjoy one of the best-preserved sea floors in Málaga, with numerous species of animal and plant marine life. Additionally, the Málaga coastline allows you to enjoy many other watersports such as kayaking, canoeing and paddle surfing.

... for nature lovers

Did you know that you can travel around the entire province of Málaga in 35 stages that have been prepared for walking and cycling? The Gran Senda de Málaga (The Great Málaga Path) offers you routes of varying difficulty and distance, ideal for coming into close contact with nature and discovering, along the way, towns, rivers and some very special places. Choose the stage that most appeals to you and away you go! If what you prefer is going to the trendiest or most fashionable place, the Caminito del Rey (King's Pathway) awaits you. Here you can enjoy a breathtaking natural site, a spectacular gorge known as the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, and you can walk all the way through it along a hanging walkway that stretches for more than six kilometres.

... for the adventurous

A paintball battle with friends is something that you'll never forget. In case you don't know, you are in teams and you have to "finish off" your rivals by shooting balls of paint. Prepare your strategy, defend your own team, and attack when least expected! The mountain range known as the Serranía de Ronda has some great sites where you can enjoy this activity, and the area offers many more adventure activities, such as karting competitions at the Ascari circuit, routes for 4x4 cars and paragliding flights.
