With nearly 20 large leisure parks, the Costa del Sol has the widest entertainment on offer for children in Andalusia. If you add this to the fun activities between December and January organized by the towns and cities of Malaga, the result is a Christmas full of possibilities to enjoy these family holidays.
Culture for all audiences
Children's shows are a classic of the Christmas cultural programming on the Costa del Sol. Among the most original proposals are those of the Echegaray Theatre in Malaga capital, which on the 11th of December will be the setting for the musical tale ‘Christmas Tale in Neverland’, from the duo Harpevoix. One day later, it will host a children's “zambombá”, an appointment with the traditional flamenco Christmas carols of Andalusia.
Take advantage of your stay in Malaga to get closer to the Interactive Museum of Music. It is one of the favourite cultural spaces for the smallest members of the family, as they have instruments to play. And don’t forget to visit the Pompidou Centre, where you will find the exhibition-workshop for children: ‘Arman. La Aventura de los Objetos’ ('Arman. The Adventure of the Objects') will be open to the public.

Toy worlds in the villages of Malaga
If you choose the Axarquia to spend Christmas with your loved ones, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Museum of Ancient Toys in Alfarnate. Its collection includes curious pieces, some more than a hundred years old, that will take you back in time.
More modern is the Playmobil exhibition that the Cortijo Don Elias will house in Mijas until the 30th of December. A sample consisting of more than 5,000 lovely figures who recreate scenes from the West, pirates or ancient Egypt.
Plenty of fun
The Muestra Infantil de Malaga (MIMA) turns the Trade Fair Palace of the capital of the Costa del Sol into a paradise of fun every Christmas. A space dedicated to leisure where the little ones learn to play and unleash their imagination with more than seventy types of game, educational and sportive activities.
Performances, storytelling, workshops and contests are held every day at the MIMA, from the 26th of December to the 4th of January. Do want some more? Wait to see the ice rink, the climbing wall, the toy library, stunt cars and other attractions.
And of course you can take advantage of the special contents offered during these dates by the leisure parks of the Costa del Sol. Enjoy the 'Feliz Navidad' show at Tivoli World before your children experience the thrill of ordering toys from Father Christmas.
The Three Kings are coming!
Every 5th of January the Three Kings arrive at the province of Malaga. Laden with gifts and sweets, their Majesties ride the streets of towns and cities of the Costa del Sol in chariots. These are the traditional parades of Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, who are accompanied by bands, animation groups and fantasy characters.
Weeks before this magical night, the royal postmen are dedicated to collect the letters with the wishes of the children in different points of the city. You can find them in plazas, department stores, shopping centres, museums and religious brotherhoods.
