Rastro at La Térmica
Since November 2004, 20 editions of El Rastro Cultural have been celebrated in La Térmica. Through this event, which will take place this Friday from 19,00, where you can find stands, food stands, lively music and stage, have passed already more than 20,000 people.
This year, leisure proposals have been increased, and every day there will have fashion shows, dj’s, roller rink, short film programs and many collectors stands.
3rd Coast Race Holiday World
For the third consecutive year, Holiday World launches the Coast Race Holiday World, whose benefits will go to Proyecto Hombre (a NGO). This event will take place next Sunday from 10,30 a.m. This popular race, open to all people, will have two different distances to choose: 5 km and 10 km.
Popular party in Arriate: ‘Partir la Vieja’ (‘Splitting the old one’)
Since several years there is a party in Arriate: The Day of the Old One. Although the origins of this party are earlier than 1700, the first written testimonial comes from this date. The expression means “to divide the old Lent” into two halves, to make a pause in the fasting and the abstinence, which are stablished by the Catholic Church at this liturgical time. During this day, the local families go to the countryside for lunch.
Exhibition: The Avengers/ Stars Wars
The Málaga FNAC hosts until March 10th the Pepe Larraz drawings exhibition (Marvel’s factory artist). Pepe Larraz started his career drawing for fanzines. After a time when he combined advertising works with publishing in several journals, he jumped to USA in 2010 to start to draw for Marvel a ‘New Avengers: Luke Cage’ edition. Since that contact with the American market, he has continued to develop his career as Marvel comics artist in other collections.
