Miguel Poveda in Concert

This Saturday, the Cortijo de Torres Municipal Auditorium is hosting a concert by the Catalan singer-songwriter Miguel Poveda. The artist will entertain his audience with his latest work “Sonetos y Poemas para la Libertad” (Sonnets and Poems for Freedom), an album in which he draws from some of the best poets writing in Spanish including García Lorca, Miguel Hernández and Pablo Neruda.

Festival of the Virgin of Wonders, Nerja

This weekend Maro, a hamlet in the municipality of Nerja, holds its traditional Fiesta de las Maravillas (Festival of the Virgin of Wonders). During this time, the young people of the town process the Virgen de las Maravillas through the streets. Grape Harvest Festival, Mollina

For another year, the town of Mollina is celebrating the end of the grape harvesting season with its popular Fiesta de la Vendimia (Grape Harvest Festival). Throughout the weekend, visitors will be able to enjoy a multitude of activities including a carrera de cintas a caballo (a horse-riding competition where riders collect ribbons hung overhead), bicycle rides through the town and a market selling traditional artisan products.
