The year 2021 was an important one for the events sector. Restrictions affecting large-scale gatherings placed significant limitations on what the sector was able to do. Nevertheless, the industry has come back fighting and event programmes have been scheduled and held. Through the implementation of new safety measures, MICE tourism is opening up once again in the Costa del Sol with conference centres in the province of Malaga spearheading the growth of the sector. As we look forward to 2022, the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga events programme is filling up nicely. Retro Auto & Moto 2022
From the 28 to the 30 January, Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA) is hosting Retro Auto & Moto 2022, which is part of the 9th edition of Salón del Vehículo Clásico, de Época y Colección (Classic, Period and Collector’s Automobile Fair). The event draws in car lovers with a particular penchant for classic and collector’s cars. Hundreds of people from around Spain are expected to attend the event. In last year’s edition (2021), the event counted an impressive 10,000 visitors. Clubs, collectors, enthusiasts, exhibitors and other institutions are geared up for a jam-packed event.

H&T 2022
H&T is coming to FYCMA from the 7 to the 9 February 2022. The only event in southern Europe dedicated to hospitality, H&T seeks to be innovative in terms of its approach, exhibitors and content. H&T 2022 is on a mission to be a strong and inclusive event for the companies and professionals operating in one of the most important economic sectors in the country. With twenty years of history behind it, H&T is back in 2022 to offer sector players a productive and trustworthy event with its sights set on internationalisation, digital transformation and excellence.
Transfiere 2022
On the third week of the shortest month of the year, the highly-anticipated 2022 edition of Transfiere is coming to Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA). Pioneers can expect to create business synergies, strengthen ties between SMEs and research groups and transfer knowledge to technology. Taking place on the 16 and 17 February, the event makes space for everything from science and business to technology and innovation.

Seme 2022
The 37th edition of Congreso Nacional de la Sociedad Española de Medicina Estética (SEME 2022) and the 3rd edition of SERECAP will be at Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga from the 24 to the 26 February. SEME is the leading event in the aesthetic medicine industry at both the national and international levels. The science programme boasts the highest-level speakers from Spain and abroad. The event also has a practical programme focusing on the latest trends in technology, new demand and the scientific analysis of new products. There will also be an exhibition area.
Freakcon 2022
Convención Internacional de Manga, Cómic, Series TV y Videojuego, also known as FreakCon, is coming to Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga on the 5 and 6 March 2022. The international event is dedicated to popular culture in all its forms, from television series, manga and graphic novels to animation, film, fantasy fiction, cosplay, board games, science fiction and videogames.
Natura Málaga 2022
Once again this year, Natura Málaga is demonstrating the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle at Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga from the 1 to the 3 April. The three-day event is jam-packed with events and activities focusing on responsible consumption, sustainability and wellness.

SET (Congreso Sociedad Española de Trasplante)
From the 13 to the 15 May 2022, Malaga is hosting the 7th edition of Congreso de la Sociedad Española de Trasplante, the Spanish Transplantation Society Congress. The organisers have put together an innovative scientific programme which will present the latest knowledge and innovations from the field of solid organ transplantation. Expect plenty of national and international speakers of great renown.
20th edition of European Congress of Internal Medicine
From the 9 to the 11 June, FYCMA is hosting ECIM 2022. The European Congress of Internal Medicine focuses on sharing innovative developments and providing an overview of avant-garde treatments for common conditions in internal medicine. This year’s slogan, which reads “Internal medicine, the forefront of healthcare”, emphasises the importance of internal medicine in looking after communities’ health, particularly in the current situation.
Gamepolis 2022
No event calendar is complete without at least one event dedicated to videogames. Gamepolis is the most hotly-anticipated event of the year among the gamer community. Drawing in countless videogame developers, the event line-up features talks and tournaments. If you’re interested in throwing yourself into the world of gaming, this is the event for you. It will be at FYCMA Malaga from the 22 to the 24 July.
Greencities 2022
Scheduled for the 21 and 22 September, Greencities will attract a diverse group of professionals, experts, companies and institutions to debate the future of smart cities. This is an opportunity for attendees to discuss ideas, harness experience and design projects with the aim of making the cities of the future smarter and more sustainable.
Andalucía Management 2022
On the 2 November 2022, FYCMA (Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga) is hosting the 12th edition of Andalucía Management. The aim of the business-focused event is to bring together entrepreneurs from the province of Malaga, and the rest of the region, to hear talks from some of the biggest names in the world of business. Idea sharing, learning and networking are guaranteed.

Salón Inmobiliario del Mediterráneo (SIMED) 2022
SIMED is a must-attend event for players operating in real estate and property. Held at FYCMA from the 10 to the 12 November, the event is the biggest real estate convention in southern Spain. Buyers, sellers and investors will come together to analyse market trends and value the finest properties on the market in the Costa del Sol and Andalusia.
And if all that weren’t enough, there are plenty of other events that we didn’t have space for. TEDXMALAGA (22 April), E-Congress Málaga (10 September), Talent Woman (3-4 November) and Mobile Week (December) will all be hosted at FYCMA. This is a world-class event programme that proves the Costa del Sol is the beating heart of the MICE sector in Spain.
