As we leave 2020 behind, the hard-hit events sector is coming to terms with the aftermath of an extraordinary year. The strict restrictions on large gatherings of people in indoor spaces has had a significant impact on the market, which is now - fortunately - starting to make a come-back. With increased safety measures and renewed focus, conference tourism is gradually returning to the Costa del Sol with conference centres in the province of Malaga leading the renaissance of the MICE sector.
With an eye to 2021, the events calendar at the Malaga Trade Fair and Conference Center (known as Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga and abbreviated to FYCMA in Spanish) is looking much healthier. A wide range of events has been scheduled for the next twelve months, whether they be physical, online or hybrid, so we thought we’d take a look at what’s lined up.
During the third week of the shortest month of the year, the much-talked-about event Transfiere 2021 is scheduled. Targeting lovers of innovation, the event promises to boost business synergies, strengthen ties between SMEs and research groups and transfer applied knowledge to technology. In the diary for the 17 and 18 February at Malaga Trade Fair and Congress Center (FYCMA), Transfiere 2021 welcomes everyone and everything, from science and technological applications to business.
Andalucía Management 2021
Taking place in a sensitive moment for the business sector, FYCMA (Malaga Trade and Congress Center) is set to host the eleventh edition of Andalucá Management on the 23 February. The goal? To bring together entrepreneurs from both Malaga and the rest of the region to meet renowned names from the world of business. An event that guarantees the most contemporary ideas, learning and networking.

From the 15 to 17 March, FYCMA will host the first event of the year dedicated exclusively to hotels and restaurants. This year’s edition of The Hospitality, Gastronomy, Services and Enology Trade Fair will see an impressive selection of exhibitors show off the latest sector-specific technologies to Malaga and the world.
Natura Málaga 2021
Once again Natura Málaga is back to demonstrate the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle in Malaga Trade Fair and Conference Center (FYCMA). Over the course of three days, a line-up of activities and talks is scheduled to shine the spotlight on responsible consumption, sustainability and wellness. Put the dates in your diary to make sure you don’t miss out: 14, 15 and 16 May.

And there couldn’t not be an event dedicated to the world of videogames. Gamepolis is the most hotly-anticipated event of the year for gamers and lovers of this constantly evolving world. The event will attract countless video game developers and feature a number of different presentations and tournaments. If you want to get to know the gamer universe from the inside, come to FYCMA Malaga from the 23 to 25 June.
On the 29 and 30 September, a diverse group of professionals, experts, businesses and institutions will come together for Greencities, the event that discusses smart cities. The mission of the attendees is to debate ideas, experiences and projects such as to plan smarter and more sustainable urban spaces for the cities of the future. Fancy taking part?

Mediterranean Real Estate Trade Fair (SIMED) 2021
SIMED is an important event in the diary for real estate agents and anyone else interested in the property market. From the 4 to 6 November, FYCMA Malaga is hosting the biggest real estate convention in the south of Spain. Buyers, sellers and investors will analyse the market trends and evaluate the best properties in the Costa del Sol and Andalusia.
And if all that weren’t enough, there are all sorts of other events that we haven’t mentioned here. Smart Agrifood Summit, S-Moving 2021 and The Retro Auto and Moto Fair are just some of the other events that are featured in a world-class calendar that proves the Costa del Sol is a constantly evolving nexus of the MICE sector in Spain.
