Family plans in Málaga

 Tags: Leisure

If you are planning a family getaway, the Costa del Sol is the ideal destination. Málaga offers a wealth of activities to enjoy with your loved ones in an unforgettable trip.

In addition to sun and sand, most Costa del Sol hotels offer services for the comfort and entertainment of all family members. There is a wide range of options in the leisure and culture departments, including amusement parks, lovely hinterland villages and the cultural events the Costa del Sol calendar is packed with.

Have fun with your family: amusement parks

Benalmádena boasts the best options for a family holiday in Málaga. You can have a wonderful time at Tívoli World, an amusement park, or climb Mount Calamorro on the cable car, affording great panoramic views of the Costa del Sol and of native animal species. Watching birds of prey or a dressage show are good options, too.

For animal lovers, there are two marine life parks: Selwo Marina and Sea Life, plus, the biggest butterfly house in Europe. Other top attractions with animals in the province are Selwo Aventura  for a real safari experience, a zoo like Bioparc Fuengirola and more specialist zoos like Crocodile Park in Torremolinos or Lobo Park in Antequera.

In the summer, water parks are a great choice. There are three in Málaga, including Aqualand and the Mijas Water Park.

Cultural activities to do with your family

There are lots of things cultural tourists can do in Málaga. The historic district of Málaga City is, of course, a must. Walk down Larios Street and visit the Roman Fortress, the Cathedral and the Roman Theatre. Muelle Uno offers some of the best views of monumental Málaga, as well as boat rides and a variety of stores and restaurants.

All the main theatres put on children's shows and most museums organise special activities for kids. There are even entire museums dedicated to them, like the Interactive Museum of Music.

Off the capital of Costa del Sol, you will find some of the most iconic landscapes in Andalusia. Mijas, Ronda and Nerja can be visited without getting the little ones tired.

As you can see, there are lots of possibilities for visiting families on the Costa del Sol. Come discover them and enjoy!
