Waterparks your children will love in Costa del Sol

 Tags: family

When it’s hot outside, there’s nowhere better to be than somewhere with water—like a pool, a lake, a river, the beach or one of our favourite activities: a waterpark! Waterparks are great when you’re looking for some fun in the hot sun with the whole family. Here are some of the best waterparks in Costa del Sol:

Aquavelis

Located in Torre del Mar (Vélez-Málaga), this waterpark is one of the best options for children. For starters, there’s so much to do here! Slide down the 80-meter Kamikaze slide, which goes downhill at full speed, or if that’s too intense for you, line up to try one of the easier water slides. At the VRFun Virtual Reality Arcade, you can pretend you’re doing everything from flying or driving race cars to swimming in the ocean without leaving dry land. There is a separate area for really young kids, which has a minimum height requirement of 1.1 to 1.4 meters, and slides and games for older children and adults, too.

Fun Beach Park (Torre del Mar)

A waterpark in the sea? You heard it here first. Floating alongside the beaches of Torre del Mar and La Rada (Estepona), Fun Beach Park is made up of giant inflatable obstacle courses and amusement parks right on the water. Good for adults and kids alike, jump, climb or dive down the inflatables. Don’t worry, parents—safety is key here! Lifeguards are always on duty, the inflatables are only open to children ages four and older and ALL kids are required to wear life jackets.

Aqualand

Head to Torremolinos, where you’ll find one of the largest waterparks in all of Spain. Aqualand is perfect for family members of all ages! There are special areas just for the little ones (like Children's Paradise and Seta Acuática), as well as a mix of rides without minimum height requirements for adults who want to slide down the slides with their kids.

Holiday World (Benalmádena)

Looking for your child’s new favourite vacation destination? How about a hotel with its own children’s waterpark in Malaga? While you sunbathe at the beach club, get a spa treatment, play sports in the sports centre or relax on a hammock, your kids can jump from pool to pool, try different watersports, play on mysterious pirate ships and slide down water slides. Holiday World (Benalmádena) promises fun for the whole family with five all-inclusive hotels, a spa, a gym, different restaurants, a beach club and a beachfront waterpark.

Costa Water Park

Not all water parks in Malaga are created equal! Similar to Fun Beach Park, Costa Water Park is an amusement park on a platform on the sea. Floating alongside the beaches of Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Puerto Banús and Sotogrande, this unique waterpark has slides and fun balancing obstacles—all suspended over the water—for adults and children alike.

Aquamijas

Go to Mijas and see what Aquamijas is all about! This waterpark was designed with children and families in mind. There are plenty of interactive recreational activities with real-life Gotito and Gotita characters, as well as special areas just for kids, like the children's pool or “Diverdragón.” Most rides have a minimum height requirement of just 1.15 meters, making it accessible for older children who want to ride with their parents. Bonus? Families and children can usually get admission at discounted rates.
