Here are just a few ideas to ensure your children have a great time.
Take in the Christmas lights in the centre of Malaga
Malaga city centre is transformed at this time of year into an authentic outdoor Christmas museum. Thousands of decorations and colourful lights adorn the streets of the old town, turning a simple walk into a fully immersive Christmas experience.
From the Alameda Principal to Calle Larios, take a wander around the charming streets that lead to this part of the city and enjoy a lovely family walk this Christmas in Malaga!
Magic Christmas Park in Marbella
Magic Christmas Park in Marbella invites you to immerse yourself in all the festive fun on offer at the Antonio Serrano Lima Sports Complex in the Jesus Cortés “Pori” football grounds.
Exciting options include an artificial ice rink, a Christmas train, inflatable rides and a slip and slide.
Times:
- 27th December: 4pm to 8pm
- 28th to 30th December: 11am to 2pm / 4-8pm
- 31st December: 11am to 2pm
- 1st January: closed
- 2nd, 3rd and 4th January: 11am to 2pm / 4-8pm
- 5th January: 11am to 2pm
- 6th January: closed
- 7th and 8th January: 11am to 2pm / 4-8pm
Playmobil exhibitions in Antequera
In Antequera, there’ll be three Playmobil exhibitions once again this year at Christmas.
- "Christmas from the Nativity" in the Royal Monastery of San Zoilo.
- "Binesburg. Victorian city" in the Church of San Juan de Dios.
- "Clicks are cinematic" in the Antonio Montiel Exhibition Hall.
They will be available until 7th January. From Monday to Friday, they can be visited from 4pm to 8pm. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, they will be open from 10am to 2pm and from 4pm to 8pm, except on 24th and 31st December, when they will only be open in the morning.
Children's entertainment in Ronda: “The Magic of the Nutcracker”
Get ready to dive into “The Magic of the Nutcracker” in Ronda!
From 2nd to 4th January, BDance and Divercash studios will be bringing you stories, music, princesses, make-up and plenty of other fun activities.
From 11am to 1pm and from 4pm to 8pm.
Christmas Park in Torremolinos
Until 7th January, the Christmas Park at the Torremolinos Fairgrounds offers fun for the whole family.
With rides and bouncy castles at 50 cents or 1 euro a go, food trucks, candy floss, and fritters. There will also be workshops, activities, games and children's shows, puppet theatre and storytellers.
The schedule varies: on 24th and 31st December and 5th January, it will open only from 11am to 2pm. From 23rd December to 7th January, it will be open from 11am to 2pm and from 6pm to 10pm.
The best Nativity Scenes in the province
If you love Nativity Scenes, you’re in luck, because there is a huge tradition throughout the province of nativity scenes at this time of year.
Some of the most outstanding ones are: the Underwater Nativity Scene at Sea Life (Benalmádena), the Playmobil Charity Nativity Scene at the Malaga Nostrum Shopping Centre, the Nativity Scene in Malaga Cathedral , the Museum of Nativity Scenes in Mollina, the Live Nativity Scene in Almayate, and the Live Nativity Scene in Torrox, among others.

Christmas shows
Once again this year, there are so many great shows to choose from at Christmas along the Costa del Sol, including:
- Papá Noel: El Musical de Navidad (Father Christmas. The Christmas Musical). On 29th December at 5pm at the Teatro Esad.
- Blancanieves (el musical) (Snow White - the musical). On 4th January at 5pm or 5th January at 12pm at the Teatro Cervantes.
- La máquina de Rube Goldberg (Rube Goldberg's machine). On 6th January at 5pm at the Teatro Cervantes.
- La panda pirata (The pirate panda). On 2nd and 3rd January at 6pm at the Teatro Echegaray.
- Imagine, el camino hacia los sueños (Imagine, the path to dreams). Until 7th January at the Teatro del Soho.

Christmas markets
The magic of Christmas extends to all corners of the province. There are many districts and towns that put on charming Christmas markets aimed at families with children, with lots of fun activities for the little ones.
- Malaga: the Paseo del Parque and Muelle Uno have set up a huge Christmas Market that will be open throughout December and up to 6th January.
- Marbella: in the Plaza Antonio Banderas, the Puerto Banús Christmas market will be running until 6th January. It will feature children’s musical performances, a Christmas village, children’s workshops and other surprises.
- Benalmádena: On Avenida de la Constitución, opposite the Arroyo de la Miel Casa de la Cultura, there are Christmas wooden huts to explore and enjoy.
Family activities in the Botanical Gardens of La Concepción
Ready for a fun-packed day for the whole family? The Historic Botanical Gardens of La Concepción are organising an outdoor activity for the family: "Angelical".
This fascinating light show, which will be available until 7th January, invites you to be part of a Christmas tale narrated by the angels themselves. The story focuses on a love of nature, respect for the environment, good wishes and a thirst for knowledge.
It can be visited from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, at 30-minute intervals, and it takes around 70 minutes to complete.
