Due to the ongoing pandemic, the majority have been moved online to make sure that everyone stays safe and healthy. Admire the Christmas lights in central Malaga
The centre of the capital of the Costa del Sol transforms into an open air celebration of Christmas at this time of year. Thousands of colourful decorations and lights bedeck the streets of the historic centre so you can get into the festive spirit. Why not take a walk with all the family along Alameda Principal and Calle Larios as well as all the connecting alleyways and admire the Christmas lights?

Visit the magical Christmas bus
Visit Father Christmas’ grotto on the magical Christmas bus without even leaving Malaga! Muelle Uno is home this year to the Christmas bus, one of the most popular festive activities in the province. The 12 metre space won’t fail to get you in the Christmas spirit: in the workshop the elves are hard at work making the presents while Father Christmas reads the letters detailing what the children would like to receive this year. Watch a Christmas show
Enjoy a day at the theatre with all the family. On the 22 and 23 December, Teatro Cervantes is hosting Los Gatitos del Palacio de Invierno. The family-friendly show tells the story of a little white cat, Marusia, who meets a friend - another lost cat - when she arrives in Saint Petersburg. The two kittens find themselves having to protect the treasures of the Winter Palace. Will they be able to keep everything safe?
Have Christmassy fun at Feria MIMA
Feria MIMA is a Christmas tradition in Malaga. From the 26 December to the 4 January, Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga holds a fair where your little ones will have all sorts of fun while learning at the same time. Trampolines, inflatable games, interactive games, sports, virtual reality, environmental workshops, a cultural programme, bumper cars, concerts, storytelling, painting and much more will make your kids’ dreams come true. This year, the organisers have implemented a traffic light system for capacity as well as other measures to make sure everyone stays safe.

Head to the Christmas markets
The magic of Christmas extends beyond the capital into each and every part of the province. Many municipalities organise charming Christmas markets which are designed to be family-friendly, offering all sorts of fun activities for little ones. In Malaga city, El Paseo del Parque is hosting a large market with a total of 70 stalls that will be open for all of December and up to Epiphany. Strict safety measures have been put in place to ensure visitors keep a safe distance from each other.
What’s more, as we mentioned before, Muelle Uno is also home to the Magical Christmas market which is open from 10am to 6pm all of December and until the 10 January (opening hours may change to meet the safety measures implemented by the government).

In Plaza de la Constitución in Fuengirola the new edition of the traditional Christmas market is now up and running. Comprising 16 wooden huts, the market has implemented the measures recommended by the health authorities.
Enjoy family-friendly activities at Jardín Botánico La Concepción
Are you ready to have a whole load of fun as a family? Jardín Botánico-Histórico de La Concepción is hosting an outdoor family-friendly event that features a gymkhana, puppet show and guided tour. Running on the 5, 6, 8, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27 December at 11am and 12.30pm, the experience lasts about two hours. It is mandatory to wear a mask and groups are limited to a maximum of 15 people.
