Los Naranja Trophy, a high-flying occasion

Amidst the hectic agenda of golf competitions in the province of Malaga, after 29 years of contests, Marbella still stands out, thanks to the women's Los Naranjos Trophy golf tournament. This 4-day annual event brings the best amateur golfers together at a great golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., Los Naranjos Golf Club.

In 2023, the competition kicked off on the 1 May with all the preparation needed for an event of this kind. Golf buggies, golf-playing enthusiasts, support services and the golf course Pro-Shop’s doors wide open were all clear signs of how important this tournament is for this golf resort in Marbella. During the four days of golf playing until the gala dinner and prize-winning ceremony on the final day, players of different ages and backgrounds battled it out with a maximum handicap of 20 and Slope rating. The handicap and Slope system is aimed at standardising the game between experienced golf players and less seasoned golfers.

Los Narajos Trophy golf tournament 2023 included a welcome dinner, a warm-up round on the first day, with up to 25 award-winning players at the closing gala, in which the winner received a set of golf clubs, a silver trophy, and a trip to golf’s birthplace, Scotland, with the chance to play at three of the best golf courses in the world: Kingsbarn Golf Links, Dumbarnie Links and Kittocks.

Comfort and the highest standards

The great amenities offered to participants and the attention to detail clearly visible in the event’s organisation, are what sets Los Naranjos Trophy tournament apart from other competitions. Here, gastronomy, the fiesta, and live music play as much of a role as the golf itself. The Marbella vibe, famous for being one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the Costa del Sol, Spain and even in Europe, is reflected in this competition of four rounds from beginning to end.
