La Paloma Park in Benalmádena

According to TripAdvisor, one of the 25 most beautiful parks in Europeis located in Benalmádena. We are talking about La Paloma Park, a lush garden which boasts an area devoted to the different varieties of cactus, some of which are gigantic. You may come across one of the different types of animals roaming free through this huge park, such as rabbits, goats, hens and parrots, to the delight of children and adults alike.

The park also has a monument to reading, a great lake where you will also find fauna and flora, green areas which are ideal for relaxing, five entrances to facilitate access and three coffee shops.

Sabinillas beach, in Manilva

Near to Estepona, in Manilva, you'll find a beach with dark sand and calm waters. This is Sabinillas, a lush and exotic beach. Thanks to the Costa del Sol's pleasant climate, strolling along the promenade or enjoying a drink by the tranquillity of the sea is a real pleasure not be missed.

Júzcar, the Smurf village in the Serranía de Ronda

When a proposal was put to the residents of Júzcar to paint their whole village blue to coincide with the world premier of the film The Smurfs, they didn't think twice. Since then, this small village in the Serranía de Ronda is a must if travelling with children. Among its traditional festivals, we recommend La Porretá in February, the San José street party and the very unique pre-new year's celebration which takes place two weeks before New Year's Eve. You can round off your trip by visiting the old mills or the remains of a tin factory which was once the crux of the village.

Streets with soul on the Costa del Sol

It's worth losing yourself on some streets. The kind of streets where you can find everything you may possible need: shops, bars, restaurants, museums... Enjoy them in all their glory, get lost while strolling around and enjoying everything they have to offer. Walk down calle San Miguel in Torremolinos, one of the town's main attractions, and discover some of the town's long-standing stores. It’s worth stopping off for a sweet wine or trying the local fried fish.

If you visit Marbella, your point of reference will be Ricardo Soriano, half way between the seafront promenade and the town centre. This street is the focal point of life in Marbella, where you’ll find the most spectacular Christmas decorations and a wide selection of fashion boutiques, bars and restaurants for all budgets. If you're travelling by car, this same road will take you to Puerto Banús in a moment.

 Some tips:

  • Take a photo next to the gigantic cactus in La Paloma Park.
