Rincón de la Victoria

Rincón de la Victoria is known for its long history and spectacular landscapes defined by beautiful beaches and tropical plants. While you’re in the town, you won’t want to miss El Tesoro cave, Casa Fuerte de Bezmiliana and many other sights. If you love history, make sure you visit Torre de Benagalbón to see a fascinating archaeological site dating back to Roman times. And then to relax you can enjoy all sorts of water sports, a round or two of golf and plenty of hikes.

Mijas

Mijas is one of the most picturesque destinations in the Costa del Sol. Sitting between the mountains and the Mediterranean sea, the town dates back to Moorish times, beginnings that are evident in the old town walls and the whitewashed façades of the historic centre. During your time here, make sure you visit the contemporary art centre, the water park and - it goes without saying - the beaches. The area is also enveloped in golf courses, making it an ideal destination for lovers of the sport.

Torrox

Part of La Axarquía, Torrox is situated between the Mediterranean sea and Sierra de Almijara mountains. During your time here, a must-visit is El Faro, a Roman site where you can see the remains of one of the very few examples of seaside settlements from this time in Spain complete with its necropolis and baths. In Torrox you can combine historic and cultural visits with sun, sea and sand as the destination has no fewer than seven sandy beaches that have been awarded the Blue Flag. It is also said to have the best weather in Europe.

Algarrobo

Algarrobo is another destination straddling the mountains and the coast where you can enjoy a wide range of experiences. We’d recommend hiring a bike in the centre and then pedalling to beaches like La Mezquitilla. You could then continue your explorations at Fábrica de Aceite ‘El Molino’ (an olive oil producer), Necrópolis Fenicia de Trayamar (a Phoenician necropolis) and the many watchtowers in the area.

Manilva

This pretty town is just a stone’s throw from the province of Cádiz. Manilva’s biggest attractions are its beaches and sights, making it an ideal destination for a getaway with your friends. The beaches, Sabinillas and La Colonia, to name but a few, are easy to get to and offer all the services you could possibly want or need. If you fancy seeing some sights, make your way to Santa Ana church, Castillo de la Duquesa and Fortín de Sabinillas.
