The best thing about street markets in Málagais that we may come across one or several markets on any day of the week, and these markets alternate between each town on the Costa del Sol. So you don't miss a single one, we've come up with a list of the most unique street markets. Plus, we've arranged the markets by the items they offer, with details of the day they're held on and the location. For your information when you get round to planning your visit: most of these street markets are open in the morning from 09:00 to 14:00.

Street markets at the weekend

With the weekend comes the variety. Ranging from street markets with second-hand goods, handcrafts, collectables and antiques right through to organic markets and used car markets. These are the most prominent ones:

• The Zoco del Sol is a street market offering handmade products.  It’s held on Saturdays at the Puerto José Banús Marina (Marbella).

• The Muelle Uno Zoco or Souk is market held on the second Sunday of the month, and offers handmade products, gourmet products as well as fashion and decorative items.

• The Garage Market Málaga takes place on Saturdays and Sundays in the heart of Soho, Málaga, and is a market offering vintage products, arts and crafts as well as a meeting point for new artists.

• Artesanos Invisibles (Invisible Craftspeople) is a meeting of local artists that takes place every Saturday in La Casa Invisible, which exhibits decorative items, ceramics, fashion articles and accessories.

• La Térmica Flea Market is held one Sunday a month, although the exact next dates are still yet to be confirmed. Here you can find limited edition records, films and books, photographs, imported vinyls and cassettes, comics and much more.

• Every Saturday in Torremolinos you can go to the Used Cars Market.

• Of the markets offering organic products, we have to highlight those in Alhaurín el Grande(second Saturday of the month), Coín (third Saturday of the month), Antequera (first Saturday), Marbella (second Saturday), Cártama (first Sunday), Fuengirola (second Sunday) and Pizarra (fourth Sunday).

Street markets during the week

• The Charity Street Market at the Benalmádena Marina takes place on Mondays and sells handmade products, antiques and collectables for charity.

• Every Tuesday and Friday in La Cala de Mijas there's a handicrafts market offering all sorts of handmade products.

• The Benalmádena Flea Market is held every Wednesday, which is a market offering second-hand items that takes place on the La Paloma Exhibition Ground.

• The Las Lagunas Handcrafts Market in Mijas takes place on Fridays. As it name suggests, it's a market that sells handcrafted items.

• The Fishing Village Market, also focusing on handcrafts, takes place in the Benalmádena Marina.

There are a huge number of street markets to visit in Málaga to such a degree that they have become an alternative way of going shopping for visitors to the Costa del Sol. So what are you waiting for?
