Plans for May’s long weekend? A getaway with your friends to the Costa del Sol

 Tags: Friends

May’s long weekend is around the corner. Still don’t have a plan? On the Costa del Sol you will find the most suggestive proposals to share unique moments with your friends. Here are some ideas for a perfect getaway. It won’t be difficult: the beach, the sun, adventure sports and fun will be your allies.

Malaga: fun without limits

Malaga is a cosmopolitan city, full of dynamism and several leisure activities. You will see this strolling along the port, losing yourself in Soho (also known as the neighbourhood of arts) or sitting on a terrace while having some tapas. But not only you can taste them in terraces, also in some markets such as Plaza de la Merced, turned into a gastronomic complex, or the Mercado de Atarazanas, with a more traditional concept.

At night, the hustle and bustle moves to bars and pubs of the historic centre and to the concert halls on the outskirts of the capital. It is the moment to enjoy music and have fun until you drop with exhaustion! But you will also find terraces where you can take things more calmly.

Torremolinos: entertainment on the beach

Do you still think the beach is just for sunbathing and bathing in the sea? Come to the Costa del Sol during May’s long weekend and you will see that it’s much more than that. A perfect destination is Torremolinos, with its springtime atmosphere by the coast. You can play volleyball on the sand, hand-glide, give yourself a rush of adrenaline riding a jet ski...

From morning until late at night, the sophisticated beach bars of Los Alamos and Playamar offer good music and a better atmosphere. Hence they are the top places for the young public to relax in a Balinese bed, have a cocktail or dance in front of the sea at sunset. And all this without having to wait for the summer!

Nerja: from the sea to the mountains

If you are into adventure, head for Nerja. Practicing diving under the Cliffs of Maro or kayaking its paradisiacal coves are some possibilities. Another equally refreshing alternative is to ascend the Chillar River, whose landscape is full of waterfalls and pools of water, so characteristic of this place. To walk it, you need to wear appropriate footwear, bathing clothes and bring something to eat, as the route is more than 4 miles long.
