# Three places to play golf in the inland Malaga

**Playing golf** next to the Mediterranean Sea is a true luxury, but courses by the sea are not the only asset of the **Costa del Sol**. In **the inland areas of Malaga** you will find some up to your expectations with first class facilities and landscapes full of nature. We propose three alternatives to enjoy  [the Costa del Golf](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/explore/the-costa-del-golf) in a different way.

 

## **Antequera Golf**

[Antequera](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/food-and-drink/what-to-eat-in/antequera) is known for its cultural heritage, its **fascinating history** and its [rich cuisine](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/food-and-drink/what-to-eat-in/antequera). But also for hosting a golf course in **the geographical centre** of Andalucia, surrounded by the valley and the mountains preceding the area of [El Torcal](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/things-to-do/torcal-de-antequera-natural-area-p15271).

Its 18 holes, all different, will allow you to use each of your clubs through an entertaining journey marked by **18 lakes**. Its design makes it an easy and original course, whose mottos are fun and **respect for nature**.

**[Antequera Golf](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/things-to-do/antequera-golf-p32831)** also offers three housing options: a **convent of the sixteenth century** turned into a five star accommodation, a resort with all modern comforts and a hotel located in the old town centre. And for lunch or dinner, nothing better than the restaurant of the course with its fantastic views to the **Peña de los Enamorados**.

 

## **Alhaurin Golf**

In [the Valle del Guadalhorce](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/towns-and-villages/valle-del-guadalhorce), one of the best facilities in Malaga awaits you. Practice your favorite sport in this 18-hole course of [Alhaurin Golf](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/things-to-do/alhaurin-golf-and-hotel-resort-p10181), with its landscape dominated by the **Sierra de Mijas** and its own grove **of Mediterranean forest**.

Designed by **Severiano Ballesteros**, its circuit is a challenge even for the most experienced golfers. However,  if you want to get started in this discipline or workout at **the short game**, you have an affordable 9-hole course at your disposal.

The complex, located in [Alhaurin El Grande](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/towns-and-villages/alhaurin-el-grande-p9231), includes a **hotel of Andalusian inspiration** and a splendid clubhouse with restaurant. From its terrace of natural grass you can relax watching the streets, greens and lakes of this versatile golf course.

 

## **Lauro Golf**

Located in [Alhaurin de la Torre](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/towns-and-villages/alhaurin-de-la-torre-p9221), Lauro Golf is a course so integrated into its natural surroundings that the presence of rabbits, ducks, herons and even eagles flying over is not strange among its century-old oaks and 14 lakes.

Thanks to its **microclimate**, any time is favourable to explore its 27 holes, nine in nine combinable. Two of them, at the foot of the mountain, offer beautiful  views of the Guadalhorce Valley and **the sea** in the background.

It is not a difficult but a technical course, which has also a **clubhouse in a traditional Andalusian farmhouse**. A lovely place where you can taste the best cuisine or relax under an impressive ficus after a game in nature.

For sports enthusiasts, the resort **[Lauro Golf](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/things-to-do/lauro-golf-p67801) **also has a paddle academy,  a swimming pool and an equestrian centre. And **don’t  forget the Lawn Bowls Club**, which offers the possibility to practice this fun outdoors game throughout the year.
