Located in the neighbourhood of El Palo, El Chanquete Beach (also called “El Dedo Beach”) is one of the most popular surf spots in the province. Next to Club Náutico El Candado, it has all the amenities visitors need, like parking, showers and more. On top of that, surfers will benefit from both the Poniente and Levante winds here.

 

Los Álamos Beach (Torremolinos)

Artola-Cabopino Beach (Marbella)

Part of Marbella’s Dunas de Artola Natural Area, and declared a Natural Monument in 2001, Artola-Cabopino Beach is one of the most famous surf spots in all of Malaga. There is a portion of the beach, tucked between the rock break and Puerto Deportivo de Cabopino, where surfers congregate. With its big waves and sandy seafloor, this is a great place to practise tons of different surfing styles and tricks.

Located in Vélez - Málaga, Benajarafe Beach is a Blue Flag beach that’s easy to get to and has plenty of parking. Come on days where the wind blows from the east, and you’ll find great conditions for surfing. (Hint: Go to the far side of the beach, where the town ends, and you’ll get the best waves!)

If you’ve entered into the exciting world of surfing, Costa del Sol is where you want to be! It has small- to medium-sized waves that are perfect for beginners practising the basics, along with a wide variety of surf schools to help them improve their skills. 

Located in Nerja, Life Adventure is a surf school that specializes in teaching first-time surfers. In the city centre of Malaga capital, CoolHot teaches not only surfing, but other water sports like kitesurfing, windsurfing, paddle boarding and kayaking. Nalusur, sitting onsite at the marina in Marbella, offers courses that adapt to all skill levels, as well as surf camps.
