The 2023 edition takes place on the 15 August in the iconic Los Lagos, a course designed by Robert Trent Jones and considered one of the best in Europe. Ruta 21 2022: all you need to know
The 10th Ruta 21 golf tournament at Mijas Golf Club in 2022, with a memorial to Pepe Varela, saw a series of special moments and gave away big prizes. As well as the tradition of giveaway prizes and gastro products, two special prizes were awarded, one to the player with the closest to the pin and the other to the longest drive, with a golfing holiday for two the most sought after prize.
One of the tournament’s hallmarks is its open and free approach, so, like last year, the 11th edition of Ruta 21 is open to everyone. What's new at the 11th edition of Ruta 21?
This summer classic comes with new features while maintaining its true goal: making sure people taking part have a blast. The recently opened La Zambra Hotel, located next to Mijas Golf is offering ‘La Zambra’ special prize to the player with the nearest ball on a Par 3, while Alpitour, the main sponsor, is giving away a golf trip full of surprises to one of the lucky players.
The 11th Ruta 21 tournament “II Memorial Pepe Varela” will gift a welcome pack to every player taking part, which includes Wilson gifts and goodies from other collaborators. There’ll also be a fantastic halfway station with refreshments, Iberian ham and fruit at the 10th tee. Lunch is served in the clubhouse and winners will receive their much deserved prizes afterwards. Gifts up for grabs in the final raffle open to all participants include sports gear, gastronomic experiences, and green fees on the Costa del Sol golf courses.

Los Lagos is 6,536 metres long and boasts wide fairways, sand traps, soft slopes and a few forest trees as obstacles. A total of nine lakes and waterfalls intertwine throughout the course.
