# Non stop Golf on the Costa del Sol

Would you like to practice golf all year long? Do you want to attend big tournaments as a spectator? If you are anxious to enjoy your favorite sport without worrying about inclement weather, on the Costa del Sol you will find a destination within your reach to enjoy golf. **A semi-tropical climate in the middle of Europe** and **the best facilities** await you in Malaga.

## Golf in the Cala Resort of Mijas

Save the date: from the 18th to the 21st of May, the **Andalucia Costa del Sol Match Play 9** is held, an event that is part of the Challenge Tour 2017 that will take place at the sports complex and hotel La Cala Resort in Mijas.

As a singular aspect of the tournament, it should be noted that the game will include in its final part an interesting match play over 9 holes among the top finishers.

[Mijas](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/towns-and-villages/mijas-p9861) is a paradise in many ways. A spot between the mountains and the sea that combines the charm of a **small Andalusian village on the mountain** and the pleasure of a residential complex on the coast. Not surprisingly it has been chosen by thousands of Europeans as the perfect place to live. And the perfect place to play golf, of course. **This town has more than a dozen golf courses**.

## A calendar full of tournaments

The opportunities to attend golf competitions on the Costa del Sol are many throughout the whole year. To begin with, you can attend the National Pitch & Putt Tournament at the [Miguel Angel Jimenez Golf Academy](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/things-to-do/miguel-angel-jimenez-golf-academy-p82321) in [Torremolinos](https://blog.visitacostadelsol.com/en/torremolinos-tourist-destination-costa-del-sol), a school created by this outstanding golf character from Malaga who won four Ryder Cups. In July, young golf talents will have their opportunity in this same course with the Championship of Andalucia Sub 16 and the Benjamin P&P, and at **the end of August with the Championship of Spain Interclubs Infant** in the Club de Golf Guadalhorce. In September the International of Spain Under 18 Male Stroke Play will take place in [Alhaurin de la Torre](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/towns-and-villages/alhaurin-de-la-torre-p9221).

And among the most outstanding golf events that you can enjoy during the year, in October (with still summery weather conditions) the Andalucia Masters in the emblematic [Real Club de Golf de Valderrama](http://www.visitcostadelsol.com/things-to-do/real-club-valderrama-p71341), course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr and considered to be one of the best in the world.
