Golf Valley as it is known, is one of the areas in the province of Malaga with the most golf courses--there are **12 golf courses** in the Mijas and Alhaurín de la Torre region. **The Golf Valley** resort in **Mijas** is making this city in Malaga as a European benchmark in **golf tourism**, not only because of the number of **golf courses** it has to offer but also because of the new golfing strategies being implemented. Some of the most famous golf courses that you'll find in **Mijas** are at **‘La Cala Golf Resort’**, which has several courses such as ‘Campo Asia’, ‘Campo Europa’ and ‘Campo América’. Another golfing resort is the **‘Mijas Golf Club’**, which offers golf lovers two courses, ‘Los Lagos’ and ‘Los Olivos’. Other notable golf courses in Mijas are ‘Santana Golf’, ‘Chaparral Golf Club’, ‘Calanova Golf Club’, ‘Club de Golf La Siesta’ and ‘Miraflores Golf Club’. In **Alhaurín de la Torre** you'll find the ‘Lauro Golf’ golf course, and in the neighbouring town, **Alhaurín el Grande**, you can visit the ‘Alhaurín Golf Resort’. All of these courses have the **services** and **facilities** that will meet the needs of even the most discerning golfers. ## A Valley Designed for Golfers The 12 courses that make up Golf Valley are bordered by the **Sierra de Mijas** and the **Sierra Alpujata**, where new golfing strategies, which will be promoted by the staff at the facilities, are put into practice. The **tourist/sports** resort in **Golf Valley** also hosts many **events and tournaments** at its facilities. **Exhibitions, inter-club events, and professional and amateur competitions** – the tournaments held at Golf Valley are varied and developed for players at all levels. You can attend as a participant or as a spectator because either way, you're bound to have fun. Mijas also offers golf lovers a wide range of tourist attractions, which makes it the perfect place to play **golf**. In general, the **good climate** is an attractive feature since the temperature is pleasantly moderated by its proximity to the **Mediterranean Sea**. Some of the more specific attractions are part of the tourism offering and include Mijas Aquatic Park, where you can cool down and have fun, Museum of Wine from this municipality and the Contemporary Art Centre.
