Romantic ideas for a Saint Valentine's Day on the Costa del Sol

 Tags: Leisure

The most romantic day in the year is fast approaching! We’d like to suggest to you five romantic getaways to enjoy the Costa del Sol as a couple. Malaga's sea, beaches and mountains harbour magical secrets that will help you make the most of Valentine's Day.

A night sailing the Mediterranean

At Ports like Malaga, Marbella, Estepona and Benalmádena , you’ll come across an enjoyable activity you’ll be able to surprise your partner with for Valentine's Day: a sailing trip.
You’ll start by setting sail from the port in the evening, and you’ll have time to enjoy the sunset out on the sea as you get ready for dinner on board the boat. We know how the night will start, but not how it will end in the boat’s very best cabin.

Malaga from the Gibralfaro Viewpoint

The Gibralfaro Viewpoint is the most famous viewpoint in Malaga due to its proximity to the city centre, its easy access and the views it offers. The trip we're offering is a quick getaway where you’ll be treated to a balcony with views of La Malagueta, El Paseo del Parque, the Port and the African continent (on very clear days). The perfect moment comes in the late afternoon, when you can gaze at the Malaga sunset.

Trip to the most romantic village

To coincide with the Saint Valentine’s Day, the village of Villanueva de la Concepción launched the route “10 steps for love” last year. This route takes lovers around various prominent areas in the village, where you’ll be able to take pictures of yourselves with the love messages you come across, and where you can enjoy your time as a couple.

Some of the messages you may find include: “Suéñame y te soñaré” (Dream of me and I’ll be dreaming of you - Avenida Blas Infante Viewpoint), “Dejemos huella de nuestro amor” (Let's leave a trace of our love - Calle Ribera), “Bebe de mis labios” (Drink from my lips - Parque Antonio Bolívar) and  “Andábamos para encontrarnos” (We walked to find each other - Carretera de Almogía).

St Valentines on Costa del Sol

A date up on high

We move on to Serranía de Ronda to the enjoy the sensation that we’ve escaped the world by going on a quiet, gentle hot-air balloon trip. A small basket measuring a few square metres is the perfect place to share a different experience as a couple this Valentine’s Day.

Sunset from the beach

If there's one thing the Costa del Sol is famous for, it has to be its beaches. From Maro to Manilva, we come across incredible places where you’ll be able to enjoy the sunset together. Along the 150 kilometres of Malaga’s coastline, we are treated to picture-postcard views where the sun tucks itself beneath the horizon marked by the Mediterranean.

We can enjoy these moments sitting down, on the sand, from a chiringuito (beach bar), or we can just chill with a front-row seat on the beach.

How will you experience Valentine's Day on the Costa del Sol?
