The prestigious Michelin star recognition has been given to seven restaurants in Malaga, making the Costa del Sol a gastronomic reference at national level. Located in the Greenlife Golf Club in Marbella, the Restaurant El Lago lives up to its name, as it is situated on a golf course with an artificial lake. Cuisine, local products and the taste of Andalusia at its best. 


The restaurant 

This Greenlife Estates’s venue opened in the summer of 2000 seeking to create a place with an innovative cuisine and personalized service. 
It received the Michelin star five years after its opening and chef Diego del Rio has managed to keep it for all these years. 

Enjoy a gourmet dinner with a special cuisine under the stars at the restaurant El Lago. Views of the sea and the mountain, with a nice lighting that is reflected in the lake, either coming from the terrace or from the inside living room, which is surrounded by glass. 


Staff

Paco García

It stands as the director of this restaurant and belongs to a family linked to the catering industry ever since. Born in Malaga, he was formed in the Catering School of Cónsula (Malaga), discovering his vocation for this profession. He worked in several hotels and restaurants on the Costa del Sol, in Scotland and Germany.


Diego del Río

The chef of this restaurant is from Ronda and he always knew he was born to cook. He did his training in the kitchen of the Bellamar Hotel School and his apprenticeship finished at the renowned Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.


The menu

This restaurant focuses on the roots, becoming a reference in the Zero Kilometer cuisine, which promotes the sustainability of gastronomy.

The varied and extensive menu of El Lago Restaurant is ideal for everyone. However, if you want to enjoy a complete dining experience, we recommend their tasting menus:

- Gourmet menu: it has 7 different dishes, among which are the carabineros tartare with gazpachuelo and zucchini, Iberian pork with fried peppers cream and dressed tomato or the almond curd.

- Classic menu: it has 5 different dishes, among which are the pickled chicken strudel with foie gras and caramelized apple, shoulder of suckling goat from Malaga, vegetable tabbouleh with soy yogurt and orange or some delicious chocolates.

You can also accompany these menus with wine pairing and have the option to choose between some of the dishes on the menu; you will find fish and meat of high quality.
