Art at Costa del Sol's villages

 Tags: Culture

Costa del Sol is an open air museum, kissed by the sun. Its villages have lots of unique corners, not very crowded, where many artists wanted to leave their brand for the joy of tourists and locals. There are places where streets become improvised museums, which are as good as any other.

Genalguacil, the museum-village

Genalguacil is known as the “museum-village” at the region. Located 45 km away from Ronda, it is one of the villages which belongs to the same-named mountain range. The council organizes the “Encuentros del Arte” (“Art meetings”) every two years, in which the most important contemporary art artists join. This activity is a booming one, where each edition is better than the previous, and makes of this beautiful village an outdoor museum, surrounded by woods which will make an unforgettable experience for the visitor.

Estepona and the mural tour

If street art is your passion and you want to do something different with your family or your partner, Estepona is your destination. The town has made a clear commitment  to the culture, by showing it in its streets through murals on buildings, defining a collection of really original high quality works. A mural tour through the most of 40 wall paintings makes from Estepona one of the largest Spain's museums.

Soho Málaga, the arts quartier

Soho Málaga is an area inside the centre of Málaga, very closed to the city main touristic attractions, whose original architecture and many cultural facilities make of this a visit that tourists who are planning a trip to Costa del Sol can't miss.

You can enjoy the numerous graffiti which dress its streets and buildings, works made by artists as Obey or D*face, whose creations are exhibited in London or new York.

Moreover, you will find the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga in Soho as well, hosting exhibitions for the whole year.
